Hate to be a wet blanket on this start-up of a second passenger train each direction, but I'm amazed that the CP cooperated. Passenger trains are kinda a big thorn in the side of the freight operation, and maintaining the required track and signals. Also, Hastings to Chicago is no longer double main track! The double main was reduced to single main due to the high maintenance costs of two mains. Loved the video though!

Rode it on May 23 to the Dells, riding back to Glenview on Monday the 27th. It was a nice trip.

The Red Wing is one of my favorite stations.

I figured it was going to be busy by the depot so I went along the other side, I wish they would put some sort of platform along that fence cause it's a great shot area to get the train and the station, but the fence is to high. But you are very welcome I'm just glad my photos turned out good enough to use. Also I saw that guy up by the vet's memorial standing and showing the flag along with giving passing cars the middle finger.

Wacko Minnesota politics. You guys need to do better. Being from Tomah, class of '75, It's great to have this train. Used to hang out all the time at the Tomah Depot in the late 60's. Pete Bean was the station agent.

I was able to find it on Google Earth you can see the trestles and follow the grade from goodhue.

Great video. On the old maps it looks like that line approached today’s County 52 from roughly the SSE and made a slight right turn to just past north as it crossed the road, so your comment about the trestle being on a slight angle seems plausible. Interesting stuff. Thanks for sharing.

Very much enjoyed this as it is not far from us. Lots of history over here. My husband's cousin's son owns and lives up in the house with the porch and the white rail fence. They have a very old stone spring house. Wouldn't doubt it was from the hey day time of the small town. We'll have to go visit them and ask.

Why were the old buildings removed? The old buildings look so much better than stucko structures.

Those poor cows!

Sometimes the farmers level out raised roadbeds so it’s easier to drive over them. That would be a bigger challenge if the roadbed had rock ballast.

Great job in the gas station as usual. I see that the pastor from the mission was complaining again.

It's about time that you got a gas station! There were many times that I nearly ran out of gas visiting people from the mission. I barely made it to a neighboring town that had a gas station.

I used to be a Civil War reenactor but I'm 73 now and had to give it up. I belonged to the 30th Georgia infantry. I also have 2 Lionel 027 Scout sets, one is die cast and the other one is plastic with a wheel arrangement of 2-4-2. Just need to build an 027 layout. Cheers from eastern TN
